![]() NOTE (13:26:28.280) : SettingsPath: C:\Users\Neo\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter\ ![]() Hopefully, neo.nemek can help us with any testing.Ĭode: Select all NOTE (13:26:28.277) : Rainmeter 4. I cannot replicate the issue, so fixing this might take some trial and error since I do not have a portable network adapter. I didn't see any debug message in that log, but since he didn't copy the entire log, it's hard to say. One weird thing is, if no wifi interfaces are available, there is usually a debug log message when the very first measure WifiStatus measure is loaded. I am not sure USB (or similar) wifi/network devices were considered when this measure was designed since most wifi/network adapters aren't portable. In some cases (but not always), Rainmeter itself will log network adapter changes and log some debug messages.but the measure itself doesn't update it's interface list. So.if a "new" wifi interface is added while Rainmeter is already running, the WifiStatus won't see it. This handle and interface list is used across all WifiStatus measures. This initialization basically creates a handle to the wlan api from Windows and tries to get the current adapter list. ![]() The issue is the WifiStatus measure performs some "initialization" on the very first call to the measure. My own skin shows WiFiStatus measures returning the SSID and other Wifi data even when the Wifi adapter is NOT the active one (I can't physically turn mine off, however, I can only toggle airplane mode to enable/disable it). I don't have a USB adapter, however, so it's not an apples-to-apples comparison. I've tried everything I can think of, but Rainmeter always works perfectly. When he does a "Refresh all" from the Rainmeter menu, the skin works perfectly from that point on (I assume because the adapter is up from the start). The skin he is using does not seem to matter, it happens even with a basic/straight-forward skin like jsmorley's NetworkPanel skin. All Net/SysInfo measures work fine, but all WiFiStatus measures do not. It reports a blank SSID value and a quality of 0%. When his PC switches from the built-in ethernet adapter to a USB WiFi adapter, the WiFiStatus measure apparently does not see the switch. The user posted a partial debug log here, followed by my attempt to follow the process he used to trigger the glitch. The thread starts roughly here, where it begins to become clear that the problem is not the IfCondition syntax, but the values being returned by the measures. He assumed he had done something wrong with code in an IfCondition that displayed the data.Īfter quite a bit of back and forth attempting to narrow down the issue, it seems like the problem could actually be a quirk or bug in the WiFiStatus measure. The issue was he could not get WiFi signal quality/strength or SSID values to show in his skin. A new Rainmeter user started a thread recently about a skin he was having a problem with.
